Di seguito inserisco uno scambio di lettere tra Andrea e due responsabili di IMCA (lettere in originale).
Domanda di Andrea al Presidente di IMCA (Hugh .......).
I might have some information about this situation? Waiting for your kind feedback.
Best Regards

Thanks for your email and I apologise for not replying sooner …….
There are no IMCA approved ROV training courses. We have some training establishments in membership and have written some material about what might be contained in various courses. Please look carefully at the subject (ROV training) and careers material on our website. A key thing is the definition of entry level requirements. Please do discuss (and encourage others to discuss) with contractors whether they feel it is worth you attending a course, at which school and whether they would offer you a position afterwards, before you start a course. We have several times written to schools who misuse our logo or claim to be approved and to contractors who want a certificate which does not exist. If you can identify any schools or contractors which we should write to, I will send them a letter. Thanks for your help

As Hugh noted, there are no IMCA approved ROV training courses. Therefore any certificate number is set by its issuer (e.g. a school) and has nothing to do with IMCA. Similarly with the logbook, there is no IMCA number, although you would record your training certificates and details on competence assessments (but not with any personal IMCA number as there is no such thing). IMCA recommends that courses follow the guidance set out in IMCA R 002 (about to be updated but currently at Rev. 1 and entitled ‘Entry level requirements and basic introductory course for remotely operated vehicle personnel’, so we believe this is important, but you will obviously want to review the syllabus of any course you are considering and we would suggest perhaps discussing courses and employment possibilities with potential employers.
I hope this helps.
Regards

Saluti, Seadiver
